First time outside on a harness....this is after about half an hours training.....its natural for a fully flighted macaw to try and launch when you first take them outside...." fight or flight"..B & G macaws always choose flight in the first instance.......its up to the handler to keep things calm because macaws amplify emotion.. if you amp up...so does the macaw. | Macaws Australia

If you want to properly harness train a macaw, you have to get them out and about. It's the only way to do it and it is the responsibility of the breeder to properly prepare a macaw if they are going to market them to the pet trade.
