New head coach Brian Schottenheimer gets his first crack at commanding an entire team after spending the last three seasons as the offensive coordinator for Mike McCarthy.

The Cowboys have until 3 p.m. Tuesday to finalize what their roster will look like to open the 2025 season. Dallas started to make some moves Sunday, starting with their expected release of La’el Collins. The veteran offensive lineman notably rejoined the Cowboys in camp as the team battled some key injuries.

Injured reserve: Thanks to a recent NFL rule amendment, two players can be placed on IR on the day of final cuts (Tuesday) and be designated to return. Teams still have the option to carry injured players on the 53-man roster to place them on IR later.
