The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Coconino County starting at 4:43 p.m. July 17.

PAGE, AZ (AZFamily) — A pilot is safe after making an emergency landing in northern Arizona on Wednesday morning.

Highway closures and evacuations remain in effect as a wildfire burns more than 49,000 acres in Coconino County. It is one of two blazes raging at or near the northern rim of the Grand Canyon.

A resident of Northern Arizona recently died after being infected with the pneumonic plague, the first death in the US since 2007.

The Coconino Humane Association in Flagstaff, Arizona, rescued over a dozen dogs from Texas flash floods, answering an urgent plea from an overwhelmed Texas shelter. Now, they're up for adoption.
