BALTIMORE — Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who reunited with his family last week after 160 days apart following his mistaken deportation to El Salvador, was taken into ICE custody Monday after an immigration check-in, his attorney said.

Abrego's lawyers filed a new lawsuit seeking to stave off another deportation after he was taken back into custody on Monday.

An attorney for Kilmar Abrego Garcia said the Maryland man who was wrongly deported but returned to the U.S. has been detained after arriving at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility Monday morning in anticipation of new deportation proceedings.
