Jack Leiter struck out a career-high 10 in seven innings, Adolis García, Josh Jung and Cody Freeman each connected on a two-run homer and the Texas Rangers routed the Cleveland Guardians 10-0.

Since the Rangers hung football-worthy numbers on the scoreboard Saturday night, it’s fair to re-use former NFL coach Dennis Green’s famous tautology: the Rangers were who they thought they were in an 10-0 rout of the Guardians.

The Rangers activated García from the injured list prior to Saturday’s game vs. Cleveland at Globe Life Field.

The expectation was that Adolis Garcia would be activated and play for the Texas Rangers on Saturday. The only question was the corresponding move.

The Texas Rangers made a pair of moves regarding veterans ahead of Saturday's game vs. Cleveland, adding second baseman Marcus Semien to the 10-day injured list with a left foot contusion while activating outfielder Adolis Garcia from the 10-day IL.

The two-time Cy Young award winner’s last start was skipped against the Royals after he reported shoulder fatigue.
