The San Diego Padres opened their three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies with a 4-2 win at Petco Park, Friday. The result of the game was thanks in large part to the five All-Stars on the San Diego roster, who were responsible for game saving plays and run scoring hits.

Before opening a three-game series against the Phillies at Petco Park, Padres reliever Adrian Morejon was named to the National League All-Star team, making the Friars the first team in Major League Baseball history to send three relievers to the Midsummer Classic.

Dylan Cease has seen a drop in production and a rise in ERA, Joe Musgrove is on the shelf for this year after undergoing Tommy John surgery, and Yu Darvish has been fighting elbow inflammation and is yet to toe the rubber in 2025.
