The Netflix smash hit “KPop Demon Hunters” is poised to break the all-time record for the most-watched film ever on the platform this week after successfully jumping into theatres with a series of singalong showings over the weekend and making history on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Netflix appears to have its first No. 1 box-office title in the streaming company’s 18-year history thanks to the sensation of “KPop Demon Hunters.” Rival studios on Sunday estimated “KPop Demon Hunters” led all films over the weekend with $16-18 million in ticket sales.

In just two days, Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters” sing-along surged to the No. 1 spot at the domestic box office, reportedly selling out more than 1,000 screens as fans seized the one-weekend opportunity.
