The Maine Attorney General's Office says it has brought a murder charge against the teenage suspect in the killing of Sunshine "Sunny" Stewart, the woman who was found dead two weeks ago after she went paddleboarding on Crawford Pond in Union.

Police in Maine said Thursday they have arrested a 17-year-old state resident in connection with the killing of a paddleboarder who went missing on a rural pond.

The medical examiner later revealed her cause of death to be strangulation and head trauma, citing the “unusual circumstances” around her demise.
