A former US attorney has stated that Attorney General Pam Bondi knew that the district judge presented with the request to publicize the secret grand jury transcripts from the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein would have to deny it.

Republicans are furious with the attorney general’s handling of the Epstein files, which has consumed Washington for weeks.

Setback comes as president faces allegations he was told his name appeared on files linked to late convicted paedophile
