A federal grand jury indicted a man Tuesday on charges that he fatally shot a prominent Minnesota state representative and her husband and seriously wounded a state senator and his wife while he was allegedly disguised as a police officer.

The suspect also faces state charges in the shooting deaths of State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband.

Boelter faces six federal charges in a political assassination that left Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, dead, and Sen. John Hoffman and his family injured.
