On Monday, the world’s first electric-powered running humanoid robot, “Tiangong,” went open source. According to Global Times, this milestone aims to accelerate the development of humanoid robots and their integration into everyday human life.

The first artwork done by a humanoid robot, famously known as Ai-Da, has been sold in auction for over $1 million.

A robot named Ai-Da used its algorithms, camera vision, and robotic arm to create a portrait of AI pioneer Alan Turing. Sotheby's thought it would go for a max of $180,000.

Sotheby’s recently held an auction for the first artwork made by a humanoid robot. And while the company was expecting the sale to fall between $120,000 and $180,000, the piece ultimately went for over $1 million, after a fierce round that saw 27 bids.
