Penn has agreed to ban trans women from women's sports, resolving a civil rights case that centered around swimmer Lia Thomas, the Department of Education said Tuesday.

The agreement requires the university to follow Title IX as interpreted by the Department of Education and adopt Trump's executive order defining sex as biological.

The University of Pennsylvania has agreed with the Trump administration to disavow and apologize for having allowed transgender women to compete in female-only sports under past National Collegiate Athletic Association rules and to erase any athletic records and titles they earned.
