The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Thursday to hear a bid by Montana to revive a law that requires parental consent for minors to obtain an abortion, a measure challenged by reproductive health and abortion provider Planned Parenthood as a violation of the Republican-led state's constitution.

Planned Parenthood North Central States, which covers Minnesota, said that nothing will change in Minnesota for the 22,000 patients who sought care using Medicaid in the wake of the Supreme Court's Thursday ruling.

Ruling says Medicaid patients cannot sue to get non-abortion health care from Planned Parenthood if states have cut off government funding for those clinics.
