OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, one of the most influential figures in Artificial Intelligence, has welcomed his first child. Altman, who has played a pivotal role in the development of ChatGPT, took to X Sunday to announce the 'early' arrival of his baby boy.

One of the first congratulatory comments on his birth announcement came from Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, a company that has invested heavily in OpenAI.

Sharing the news on social media platform X early Sunday, Altman revealed that their son arrived earlier than expected and will spend some time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)

In last year's interview with The New York Times, Altman revealed that Mulherin loves large families and that they planned to start their own soon. Bloomberg reported in January 2025 that the couple was expecting their first child in March.
