Once again, the Boston Red Sox embarrassed the New York Yankees on Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. The Red Sox won their eighth consecutive game against their rival ( BOS 12, NYY 1 ), the first time they've done that in a single season since 2009. It is only Boston's third eight-game winning streak over the Yankees in its history.

And then a funny thing happened: It worked out totally fine. Roman Anthony and Alex Bregman came through with back-to-back sacrifice flies in that fourth inning, a turning point in a 12-1 win over the Yankees.

It’s been a crappy start to the weekend. The Yankees lost on Thursday because the pitching couldn’t hold it together, and lost last night because the offense couldn’t manage much of anything. The bare minimum for this four-game series is a split, but they’ll have to try and get that against a Cy Young contender.
