Over 1,600 Good Trouble protests are expected on July 17 to honor late civil rights icon John Lewis and challenge Trump-era policies.

The legacy of civil rights icon John Lewis will live on across America Thursday, with more than 1,600 events scheduled on the fifth anniversary of his death.

More than 1,600 events are planned across the nation to honor Lewis and protest Trump administration policies and actions.

On the fifth anniversary of the passing of renowned Atlanta civil rights leader and political figure John Lewis, Georgia activists are coming together to lead themselves into "good trouble."

Registered nurses and members of California Nurses Associationvwill host a John Lewis Day “Good Trouble Lives On” rally at noon on Thursday, July 17 in Oakland, Calif. The event is part of a nationwide day of action to honor the legacy of the late civil rights leader Congressman John Lewis.

Those attending the rally are encouraged to give blood during a blood drive that day and to make a donation to the Rainbow Connection.

Nearly 50 Florida cities and counties will host “Good Trouble Lives On” protests against the Trump administration on Thursday, July 17. One protest will occur in St. Johns County from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
