Tropical Storm Fernand is expected to continue on a north-northeasterly path over the central Atlantic Ocean Monday and Tuesday and pose no threat to land, the National Hurricane Center said early Monday.

No coastal watches or warnings were in effect for either storm, the Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical Storm Fernand strengthened Sunday and maintained its power Monday over the open Atlantic Ocean well east of Bermuda. The Miami-based National Hurricane Center reported Fernand was located some 360 miles east of Bermuda by early Monday. It had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph and was headed north-northeast at 12 mph.
