Erik and Lyle Menendez are vowing to keep fighting for freedom after both were denied parole. The brothers’ attorney Mark Geragos called the hearings “rigged” in part because audio from Erik’s hearing was released to the public in the middle of Lyle’s hearing prompting,

Talia’s mother Tammi Menendez exchanged letters with Erik while he was in prison, and the two later started meeting in-person. They got married in 1999 and have been together ever since. Erik later adopted her daughter Talia, who he shares a very close bond with.

Commissioners have explained the several reasons why Erik and Lyle Menendez were denied parole after killing their parents’ over three decades ago in 1989.
